I left the UK after my degree in fine art and french at Lancaster University.. I was full of Mancunian determination to make something of my life.
France was no accident.
Frequent meetings with the country throughout my childhood had given me an insatiable desire to see what the country really had to offer me.
I escaped to see the sun, breath that hot southern air and perhaps…..to be free. I bought my creativity on a journey, far from the cramped comfort of red brick, to the airy boulevards and dusty avenues of France. Lyon was an easy town to fall in love with. Its golden ocre facades, shimmer under the bright turquoise blue sky. A long way from the grey dusty town, hidden under the infamous Lyonnais Fog. Underneath the reds, pinks and yellows that make Lyon what it is, snuggled between the gentle green of its two hills, is a fragile, sensitive town. Its streets and stairways meandering steeply down towards the water. The Saone a calm olive green. The Rhone, powerful, stormy greys and blues.
I’m always inspired by what I see, live and feel. Surrounded by my town, it is obviously one of my most predominant sources of inspiration. But not only……
